No I don’t wanna leave
but I must keep moving ahead

Martha Wainwright – Bloody Motherfucking Asshole (live)

Martha Wainwright’s BLOODY MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLE is so amazing, I picked it as my first “Song of the Week” when I started this blog more than 2 years ago. I came across a pretty good live version on youtube yesterday and decided to give it some more attention.

Martha sings it with so much conviction, passion.
It’s pure emotion. Emotion is life.
And “life lives” as a friend of mine said the other day.

“I will not pretend
I will not put on a smile
I will not say I’m all right for you
When all I wanted was to be good
To do everything in truth…”

Jeremy Gilchrist – The Devil Can’t Fly

This is a music video for Jeremy Gilchrist’s song “The Devil Can’t Fly”, written in memory of singer-songwriter Nathan Davis. Jeremy is such a talent. The video was shot/edited by himself.

Ian Axel – This Is The New Year (official music video)

I came across this video when I was searching for Ingrid Michaelson on youtube. No Ingrid, but nice upbeat tune,  just the thing I needed right now:

JueL and Jeni on youtube!

I found myself in a youtube video!

Suzen JueL Resistance is performing at her place on Artropolis (SL) and I am in the crowd lazing around on her table. You can see me between 5:35 and 6:00

My current “SkypePod” status

I think I should have gone for the 32GB version *sigh*

Krypteria – Liberatio (video)

This was a benefit song for the victims of the tsunami in Asia in 2004. It cost 5 Euro and all the money went to Asia. I remember having bought the song and listened over and over but I haven’t been able to find a proper English translation so far. It is sung in Latin and somehow Latin seems to me the appropriate language for this song…

I never watched the video until yesterday, I did not even know that video existed.

Sad memories ….

Ve – Think of the Dead (video)

I discovered Ve on TheSixtyOne (t61) about one and half a year ago when I joined that site. I instantly fell in love with Ve’s ambient, smooth, chillout music. Good thing all his songs are for free download on TheSixtyOne (t61) and

Recently, another t61 listener (thiefbone) made an animation video for the track “Think of the Dead”. I love it, so it deserves a post on my blog 🙂

Grace Buford on CNN (video)

I have hardly been active in Second Life anymore but I still attend music shows in-world on a regular basis.  My favourite musician is Cylindrian Rutabaga (Grace Buford in RL). I met Cylindrian  about 2 years ago. She’s become a very dear friend, not just because I love her music but because she is such a nice person.

Recently, she was featured in a CNN show. I wasn’t able to post the video here because one of the drawbacks of wordpress is, you’re not allowed to embed external flash objects. However, I can use the built-in youtube player, so good thing the video is available on youtube now. Yay!

For those of you, who can’t view the video in your country check out the original CNN link

Here is a snapshot I took of the both of us a while ago. She invited me to relax on her piano while she was giving a concert 😀 If you have a SL account and are interested in a virtual live music performance, send IM to me (Jenilia Congrejo). I’ll add you to Cylindrian’s fan group, so you can receive notices about her future concerts.
