Magnificat

This reminds me of good old times when I was a choir member (alto). We performed Bach’s “MAGNIFICAT” 2 weeks before Christmas and the opening choir is my favourite.

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.”

Magnificat anima mea” from Magnificat (BWV 243) by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt

Pachelbel’s “Canon in D Major” on E-Guitar (video)

Johann Pachelbel’s “Canon in D Major”  is one of the most recognized classical compositions. I’m sure everyone knows the original arrangement by Pachelbel. It is a piece of chamber music written for 3 violins and basso continuo.

In the following video you can see another quite astonishing arrangement by JerryC. (C ?? He must be a relative of mine….) It slightly reminds me of the times when I was a school kid and played Bach on my acoustic guitar  (nah…I did not get anywhere near this proficiency LOL !)

The guitarist is Jeong-Hyun Lim from South Korea and his online alias is funtwo.

I really enjoy this arrangement and I hope so do you 😀

Pixelated Music – A Picture that Goes with a Song, Johann Sebastian Bach: Air on the G String

This is the first post of my new series: Pixelated Music – A Picture that Goes with a Song.
The idea came to my mind while I was surfing the flickrsphere. When I like a picture, I automatically connect it to a song, so this blog series is just the logical consequence 😉
